I dropped the invitation as it burst into flames in my hands. Shaking my head a bit, I flipped over the branch I was sitting on, and fell a few, landing at the base of the tree.
Picking myself up off the ground, I brushed the dirt off of my hands. Adjusting my jacket, I stood and walked over to the clearing where my castle was in pre-production.
Actually, it was just scaffolding.
Smiling to myself, I cupped my hands together, and called out into the air above the forest. "Thrysten, Sora! I need to talk to you to."
Letting my hands drop, I suddenly found myself faced by a silver cloud (no, not THAT silver cloud.) I shook my head a bit. "Zen, care to go find Oriana for me."
The cloud seemed to nod, then zoomed off into the forest. A few seconds later a small bit of it come back over to hover in front of my face. "Hey!" It said (well as much as a floating cloud of nanites can say) "I though I asked you to stop calling me Zen?"
I shrugged. "Alright then, Orac."
It swirled around a bit, agitation. "Not that again."
I groaned. "Fine how about HAL?"
It paused for a second, then slowly start to swirl again. "Ok... Zen is fine." The took off to follow the rest of itself.
I chuckled a bit, sitting on one of the large stones that my castle was being made out of. It wouldn't be done for a few months, at most a year, but I wouldn't be needed it until then.
Leaning back, I watched as both Sora and Thrysten landed on the other side of the clearing. Sora's landing wasn't the best in the world, but she had only been flying for a few days. Thrysten (the gryphoness morph who hangs around me for some reason) on the other hand, landed with perfect grace. Slowly moving over the ground until she almost stepped out of the air and into the clearing.
Sora walked around the castle to be, and stopped right in front of me, tapping me on the nose with one finger. "Fox, you really need to let me fly in your stories. It's to much fun to only do off camera."
I smiles. "Will see. Now, as soon as Oriana get's back with Zen, I have something of interest to tell you."
"I'm here," Oriana said, walking out of the woods, with send flitting along behind her. "What's going on?"
I smiled, and spread my hands a bit. "Well... Nutsy is having a potluck picnic this weekend at Lake Dusty, and sent me an exploding invite. I was wondering if you guys wanted to come along."
The three of them looked at each other, Zen flitting along in the background.
"I suppose I could make up a large salad." Thrysten muttered.
Oriana smiled. "I can take the obligatory jello."
Sora crossed her arms. "Some fried chicken I suppose."
They all turned to look at me.
"Hey, it's no hassle on my part. I'll just bring along a keg of Dew."
They all groaned, having expected that.
