Louis's Ocarina Music

Here is my collection of ocarina music.

This music is for four-hole, western scale ocarinas. All notes and lyrics are included, but there is no note-duration information, so if you don't know how a song goes, you are pretty much out of luck.

Popular Songs
  • Candle On The Water from Disney's Pete's Dragon
  • Colonel Hathi's March from Disney's The Jungle Book
  • Dark Brown Is The River (aka, Where Go The Boats?) by Robert L. Stevenson
  • Edelweiss from Rodger and Hammerstein's The Sound Of Music
  • Ode To Joy from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
  • Puff, The Magic Dragon by Peter, Paul, and Mary
  • The Rainbow Connection from The Muppet Movie. Note: This one goes out of range.
  • Return To Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins
  • The Sound Of Music from Rodger and Hammerstein's The Sound Of Music
  • Tootle from the Clayzeness Homepage
  • Winnie The Pooh from Disney's The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh
  • Concrete Angel by Martina McBride - alternate
  • Fragment from Augie's Great Municipal Band from Phantom Menace
  • Fragment from Strangers Like Me from Tarzan
  • Fragment from If You'll Buy That
  • Fragment from Trashin' The Camp
  • Fragment from Minuet in G by Mozart

    My Compositions
  • Composition 1
  • Composition 2
    Other
  • Chromatic Scale for Four Hole Ocarina
    More Ocarina Resources
  • Clayzeness Whistleworks - great, extensive site. I got started when I bought my ocarina from them at Pike Place Market.
  • Callisto Musica - a small Italian company which "aims at offering [...] high quality productions with particular attention on Early Music or not so often performed repertoire." They have a CD of Rossini's "Barber of Seville" arranged for ocarina (and a downloadable sample track)!
  • Songbird Ocarinas - another great site. They sell ocarinas, and have an extensive songbook and an online composer.
  • Wikipedia - technical info and more links.
  • Dan Moi - Ok, not ocarinas, but Jew's harps from around the world! Plus flutes and percussion - all sorts of neat stuff, with lots of sound samples.

    2002-11-23 : You're welcome.
    -- Louis! :)
2003-01-27 : Thank you, thats the best rendering of The Rainbow Connection I've seen. (And I'm lucky enough to have an ocarina that can reach the high notes)

I found your site a couple of nights ago and was delighted. Then when I tried to go back your DSL was down, so I've been trying to get back to it ever since :-)
    thanks again,

2004-09-02: Thanks for the great music on your website. Do you know where I can find the tabliture for the song - sukiyaki?
    -- Mike T.
2004-09-08: I'm not familiar with the song "sukiyaki".
    -- Louis! :)
2006-03-12: First, I would like to thank you for the ocarina tablature, I've played for about three years and have used your site for about a year and a half...however, something you might wish to look into for those pieces with the higher notes is an irish pennywhistle. I picked one up at a local faire and switch between my ocarinas and it depending on music and whims...They're cheap, easy to learn (especially if you already use an ocarina), and have a range of at least two octaves. Great site, the web is fortunate for technophiles like you.

2006-03-14: Glad you like my site! I'll have to investigate pennywhistles - they sound interesting.
    -- Louis! :)
2006-05-20 : (do u know where i can find the dr who theme for 6, 4, or 10 hole ocarinas?)
    -- ($€@n)
2006-05-29 : I don't know the Dr. Who theme. The Clayzeness web site (http://www.clayz.com/) is the best resource I know of.
    -- Louis! :)
2006-05-24 : Thank you so much for sharing this music. I am enjoying it so much. Yolanda
2006-05-29 : Glad you like it!

    Thanks -- Lady Lynnea
2006-07-05 : Hi, Lynnea. Glad you like the site. All the tunes I have and all the site links I have are right here on this page.
    -- Louis! :)
2006-07-11 : letting people touch the text box is not a good idea. go write a form.asp script for discussion.
2006-07-12 : Letting people submit any sort of data to my website is dangerous. It amuses me to let people have free reign in the text box. Most people seem to be able to handle the responsibility.

2006-10-24 : when i try to go to clayz.com, it says some plug-in error thing and i really want some zelda music, and songbirdocarina.com doesn't sell extra zelda song books (I lost mine) or have the right notes in the view and listen page. Is there somewhere else i could find some?
    -- Matt
2006-10-26 : I'm sure Google could find more for you. Also, just ignore the plug in error on the ClayZ page. The important part of the page is the pictures. There is a second page at http://www.clayz.com/sarahtabs.html but I suspect most of the songs you are interested in are on the first page.

2007-3-9: you should put up some songs for 9 holed ocarinas. im hurting for tunes
    jxcmurder
2007-8-12: Hey, these are really cool! I play my ocarina for my cousin, who's still a toddler. She loves the tunes, and it's taken me forever to find Candle on the Water, a correct version. I do think that 'Concrete Angel' was a tad bit off, though. Closer than anything else I can find. And I love how you put the lyrics, too. On Songbird Ocarinas, you have to tell from the notes what section you're playing. Thanks for the great ocarina tunes!
