Well, I set a new record today for walking time - 29m 59s. Under 30m! :) I seem to do better under somewhat adverse conditions: it was cold! I was able to keep up my pace because I wanted to get back inside and warm up. :)
Fall is definitely approaching. The leaves are turning colors in Minneapolis. I saw some hints at the beginning of the month, and I think I noted that by the 15th, leaves were definitely changing colors.
In other news, I commited enough goof-off time to update my web comics page. I threw out the dead links and added a bunch of new probationary comics. I pay money for a subscription to Graphic Smash, and the comics there rotate more frequently than I expected. For the most part, I only read Digger, but since I'm paying for it, I want to make sure I give the other comics on the site a chance.
I looked into also purchasing a subscription to Daily Ink (King Features Syndicate). I think $15 a year is a perfectly reasonable subscription rate in the current market. Unfortunately, I kept getting denied. I think they have a bug in their credit card verification. That's annoying, because I want to get Safe Havens, Sally Forth, and On The Fastrack. Also, I wonder where For Better Or For Worse went when they dropped their contract with United Media (Comics.com)?
Anyway, the more important thing is that I added a new feature to my comics browser. I added a ranking to each comic in the list, and then randomized only within each ranking group. That way my favorites are always in the front, and the ones I'm marginally interested in are always last. And I quite like it, because if I only have a few minutes, I can see all my favorites without having to click through a random number of marginals.
