Boy, it's like the Bermuda triangle around here. Today my mouse gave out. I think this is the first time that I've had a mouse give out on me however this one had always been rather flaky. It would suddenly start scrolling like mad until you touched the scroll wheel. It was annoying, but not to hard to live with. Today it started double clicking half the time you did a left button click. That's just not something you can work around. :) So, I went hunting for a new mouse. I visited three stores before I got lucky and found one I like. They sell so many different kinds of mice, you wouldn't think it would be so hard. I've got two requirements: 1) that it have a "back" button at my thumb, and 2) that I can rest my thumb, pinky, and heel of my palm on the desk while I'm using the mouse, as I use my pinky and thumb for fine control. However, everything they sell now is either chunky, or doesn't have five buttons. I was in despair when I found a Kensington mouse that was just right hiding on one of the bottom shelves.

Let's see. We started the morning by going out for coffee and muffins for breakfast. Then my mouse died, which thus required a shopping trip. Michelle was on pager call, so she had to go in and do a procedure. I went to the welcoming party for incoming Caltech freshmen that the Jennings were holding. It's always fun to get together with Techers and chat, even if they're ones you've only just met. Michelle finished her case just in time to join us at the end. And now it's time to pack up for work tomorrow and go to bed!

I've upgraded the routers and I think everything on my web site is working, but I don't have CVS up yet. Always more to do. :)
