Today we took it pretty easy. Michelle studied and I worked on the checkbook. We made "Texas Torte" for lunch, which is basically eggs and cheese and hatch chillis. It didn't come out quite like we thought it ought, but it was tasty none the less. We also had a slice of Michelle's German chocolate birthday cake. Yummy!

More studying, then we finished the birthday shopping spree with a trip to Half Price Books, where Michelle got six travel guides. Well, at least she was successful there! I got a battery for my garage door opener (always important).

For dinner, we ordered pizza from Papa Johns and watched Secondhand Lions. It was really good, just as Michelle said!

Well, looks like New Orleans is going to be in for one heck of a natural disaster when Katrina hits. I wonder if I'll be flying out tomorrow morning?
