Today Michelle and I mowed the lawn in the morning. It's been raining almost daily for a week, and it's been a few weekends since I mowed the lawn, so it was quite a jungle out there. New creature sighting, each of us saw a small snake-like lizard. Mine was about three inches long. We were also running low on mosquito bites, so we got that taken care of too. :)

Afte we cleaned up, we went to Deitricks. I brought my laptop to work ing a programming project, and Michelle brought stuff to study. When we needed a break, we came home. We did a little travel planning, then Michelle studied some more and I went downstairs to read. Well, read and nap. :) I've been reading the book Michelle's dad gave me, Fabric Of The Cosmos by Brian Greene, and it's quite good!

Michelle had to work today from 5 to 11, so we went to Patu Thai for a early dinner / late lunch. Unfortunately, they were closed, so we went next door to Texadelphia and had Philly cheesesteaks instead.

Michelle went to work, and I went to do some shopping. It's been a good day but my plans were foiled. I needed printer ink and contact solution at Target. I had a gift card and a coupon good at Borders, so I went there next. I wanted to get something specific, but they didn't have it. And of course, I forwent buying it at Target because I was going to get it at a discount at the bookstore. So I ended up wandering around somewhat at a loss, trying to figure out what to spend my $5 and 30% discount on. Not that I have the slightest complaint about wandering around a bookstore for an evening! But they were out of one CD I was looking for, and the other was $19. I later bought them both on Amazon for $8 a piece. Much better! :) At Borders, I did end up finding the book Master And Commander for $3. I was flipping through it to see if it was worth while, and ended up spending twenty minutes reading it, so it followed me home. :)

When I came home, I help my Dad order a new laptop from Dell. He got a decked out Inspiron 9300. I think he'll be quite happy with it. He was wondering if he really needed a laptop. (He certainly needed a new computer.) I think it's a bit like broadband internet. You can get by perfectly happy on dial-up. You get broadband and things are nicer, but it's not that different . . . until you have to switch back, in which case you realize how much you really appreciate it. :)

Wow! What a stack of books on the to-read list. I can't wait to read them. Well, most anyway. I'd be impressed, but my sister has me outclassed by a mile. She has three bookshelves, all full of books, but she doesn't collect books she's read: she collects books she hasn't read yet, and trades the ones she has read away for more. :)

Reminds me of the Caltech two out of three problem, except this time it's: Sleep, Read, or Chores - pick two out of three. :)
