I did a pretty good job of getting stuff done today. Laundy, mail, balancing the checkbook, exercise, mowing the lawn were all done.

Michelle's Pathfinder had a problem where the tailpipe rusted loose from the muffler and was swinging around banging into things. I took it to the local garage, and they pointed out that the muffler was getting rusted and recommended taking it to Midas up the street. So I took it and left it at Midas, and walked home. They told me they'd be able to get it fixed today and would call me when it was done, but I still had to call them to find out whether they were done. I walked all the way back and picked up the car just before they closed. When I got home, I decided to look at the tailpipe for kicks, and noticed it was still swinging around a lot. Well, it turned out that they had replaced everything, but forgotten to tighten the bolts that hold the tailpipe to the muffler. Basically, it still had the same problem as when I started! Arrg! I can't take it back today, and there's no time tomorrow before we fly out, so either Michelle will have to take it in during the week or I'll have to go back next Friday.

I went to Central Market to get sandwiches for dinner. Michelle came home, and we had sandwiches and blueberry brownie hot fudge sundaes for dinner. Then we went to see War Of The Worlds. I thought it was pretty good. It reminded me a lot of Signs. I guess the anticlimactic ending didn't bother me as much as it did Michelle.
