Michelle went to work, and I worked from home today. I got my exercise in, which was good because it's been quite a while and I was falling behind on my day count. My pack is starting to feel lighter. Carrying a "heavy" pack around Vegas with just shoulder straps was much more onerous than my heavily weighted frame pack is. I think I'm happy with my workout, though, and am thinking I won't increase the weight any further, at least not for a while. Also, the scale said that the trip to Las Vegas was not too damaging. For lunch I had my favorite, a tuna sandwich from Brown Bag.

The real highlight for the day was the evening. My financial adviser, Gary Wolfe, took Michelle and I out with him and his wife to see a Rockets game this evening. We met at his office and he drove us down to the Toyota Center. We had dinner at the concession stands (which seemed nicer than at any other sports facility I've been to) and then watched the game from the suite he had. The seats were amazing, right at center court. We could see everything. There were a couple other people in the suite, but it was fine and the seats were really cushy. Gary's managing partner showed up with a passel of kids in tow (they were well behaved). He bought a huge dessert and shared with everyone. It was this huge quarter of a dome of ice cream, with a shell made out of caramel, chocolate chips, and M&M's. It was probably two gallons worth of icecream. I think he managed to serve six kids and maybe ten adults. It was really good. As far as the game, well, the Rockets were ahead of the Hornets for the first three quarters, in a pretty calm game. The Rockets finally fell asleep, which is what the Hornets had been waiting for, and they took the lead. By now everyone was jumping up and down and yelling. The Rockets tried to make a comeback, but they didn't make it. We lost 70 to 73. Oh well, we had a good time. :)

At these games they always have crowd participation things where they pick people out of the audience and put them on the big screen. Well, this time they had a gimick where they put the camera on two people and they were supposed to kiss. And of course, some people did it, some people were too embarassed, some people didn't know what was going on. Then the camera focused on George (Sr.) and Barbara Bush! Barbara kissed George and pointed out what was going on, then George figured it out and kissed her back. It was very cute. And it was pretty cool that we were at the game with the ex-prsident! They were right across from us, center court, sitting in the front row right on the court. :)
