Today we got up around 7am. I went to take my morning constitutional by walking across the front of Bellagio a few times, while Michelle went to find a nice chair in the sun and work on her paper. Michelle ended up sitting in front of a little café called Palio, so we had breakfast there. After returning Michelle's paperwork to our hotel room, we wandered up the strip to the Venitian. We had fun going in all the jewelry shops and trying stuff on Michelle. We had lunch at a "street" café there called Tintoretto, and had fun peoplewatching while we ate.
We returned to the Bellagio and put on our swimsuits. We went out to the Bellagio pools to enjoy the warm sun, do some reading, and do some swimming. Soon it was time to come in. We cleaned up and went to our 5pm dinner reservation ant Sensi. I really enjoyed it. They had the chefs in glass walled areas in the middle of the restaurant so you could watch them while they cooked. The granite and water decor reminded me of camping in the Sierra Nevadas.
When we finished, we walked up the strip to Treasure Island (well, "TI" now, since they are trying to be hip) to see our big show for this vacation, Mystère. It was awesome as usual. It always suprises me how much Cirque Du Soleil really is a circus show. They have amazing acrobats, strong men, and clowns (and the clowns are really funny!). Sometimes they have a ring master, and there's always more going on than you can really take in. They have great music, and it's live. I suppose they don't really have animals, but they have enough dancers in fanciful costumes to pretty much fill that role. I think I've decided that Cirque Du Soleil is kind of like IMAX, in that you are better off sitting further back than right up front, so you can see everything. :)
After that, we went out front and waited to see the free pirate show. Well, they've changed it recently. Now it involves scantily clad young women and bare chested young men. The pyrotechnics and special affects are surprisingly good, but the rest is silly. I don't quite understand how shaking your butt can make a pirate's ship explode and sink, no matter how cool the exploding and sinking are. I suspect the old straight forward pirate battle would have been much cooler, but I never got a chance to see it.
By then it was getting late, so we went back to our room and went to bed.
