I got up at about 8am today. Tried to wake up and check my work email fast enough so I could do the walking aprt of my exercise (which takes about 30 min) before the ant guy came at 9am. Well, I was close. He got there a few minutes before I got home.
After the ant guy left, I spent an hour or two working on my exercise log I keep in my web site. I used to have everything on one page, but since I have daily records going back to Aug-2002, it was starting to take a while to load. Now the page is dynamic and I can specify what years I want to see. Most importantly, it will now generate new monthly pages for me. I used to have to create a new page of thirty blank records with the correct date and day of week every time there was a new month. Now I've got a script that will do it at the touch of a button, which is very nice.
The rest of the day I spent answering work email, doing laundry, bills, and computer maintenance. The usual stuff, but I get more steps in on these days when I run back and forth from computer to computer to washing machine to computer to ... . :)
Michelle came home at about 6pm. We went to Central Market for a quick dinner, then went to see a movie in the theater. We went to see Million Dollar Baby. Michelle didn't care for it, but I thought it was really good! I was expecting just a movie about boxing and grumpy old men, based on the trailer. It was, but it turned out to be more than that, which surprised me. Morgan Freeman always seems to shine as a narrator. Clint Eastwood doesn't seem to have a voice, just a rasp, but her sure makes a great grump old man. Since I was expecting a movie just about boxing, I figured it would take a long time for Maggie event to show up at the gym, but she's there almost from the beginning. I can't say I have any love for boxing as a sport, but I do enjoy movies about the players of a sport and how they meet the challenges. There are some painful scenes, which always give me the willies. Just thinking about the broken nose scene makes me want to run around with my hands over my face. Anyway, now I understand why it won a bunch of Oscars.
After the movie, we went to Cold Stone. We wanted icecream and we had a little debate about where to go - the Marble Slab at the theater, the Stuchi's across the street, or Cold Stone "way" over in the Village? Cold Stone!! If you're going to have the calories, you may as well make them the great calories. :) We shared a Germanchökolätekäke, and it was very good. :)
