Today I ended up sleeping in. I didn't really get going until 10:30. Michelle, of course, got up early and went to the hospital to work on her reseach. I exercised, and Michelle came home and we went to Einstein's for lunch. I finally settled down and worked on my usual bills and paperwork. By the end of the day I managed to at least get caught up, if not make progress on any of the longer term work items.
Michelle has run out of other things to plan and wanted to work on the Wonderland Trail trip, so I obliged and we worked on that for a while. We worked out a rough schedule for a week long trip and started trying to figure out what camp areas we would stop at each evening. Neither of us has read the book yet, so we weren't too sure of the specifics. After some searching, we found a list of campsites on the Park Service web site, and some information about what you need to do to make reservations.
We had Papa John's pizza delivered for dinner, and watched Lost In Translation (which I gave Michelle for Valentines Day). Every time they showed some land mark (a shrine or train depot) we kept trying to see if we recognized it from our tip. Some we certainly did! The movie has some really funny parts. Other parts just leave me feeling lost. I'm not sure if that's the director's intention or not.
I installed the topo map software I got for Christmas this evening. It's fun to play with. I was able to find all the backcountry camping areas along the trail and make route elevation profiles and things like that. It should be very useful for planning the trip.
