Well, just finished this round of income tax calculations. I'm done except for my Minnesota 2004 forms (I have the 2003s done), form 8801 (only 2003 is avail), any final distributions from my mutual finds, and getting the official 1099s, W2s, etc. I owe $1700 and change, mostly due to capital gains from completely changing my mutual fund portfolio. I was planning on sending a check, but checking the rules it looks like I won't get penalized, so I think I'll just sit on it and let it earn a smidge of interest. (Though in some ways I'd be happier just mailing it in and being done with it. Still, it may as well be me who earns the interest.)

I had a small victory at the used book store. Luckily, I knew there were two sections for some kinds of books, one for normal paperbacks, and one for hardcover and oversized. I was able to find what I was looking for.

Michelle and I went to La Fendi for lunch, which is a new place for us. Mediterranean food. I had a gyro with salad and hummus on the side. It was good. :) We also went to see Flight Of The Phoenix. It was fine, a bit of action-adventure / castaway entertainment. A good on to see on video. :) And Chipotle for dinner. Mmm. I hadn't been there in a while.

Michelle just had a new vacation idea. We're thinking of doing a four day trek to Machu Picchu. It's pretty cheap too - the trek is $300, and the main flights are free with requent flyer miles. It sounds exciting to me!
