I had a weird dream last night. Someone was demoing to me this new kind of computer monitor that had a special new device built in - a garbage collector for your network card! See, it would GC all the unused bits after you sent them, keeping your network from getting bogged down and improving your bandwidth utilization. It was integrated into the monitor because monitors are naturally high bandwidth devices and users will always have their monitor on while sending data, so it's a good place to offload the GC processing. Right . . . of course, this all makes no sense in reality. But it sure had a cool screen-saver like visualization of network bandwidth usage, kind of like mixing media player with task manager. :)
Scott sent me this - it's awesome! Totally Gridbag. And following the trail backwards, Inside Jack is good too. :)
