Today, we went to Central Market for lunch. Then we set out on our big adventure of the day, going to a Porche dealer and test driving a Cayene. Michelle drove it first, then I drove it. It was very nice car. Very zippy, of course. The interieor was nice. I'm no car reviewer, so I'll just say we thought it was really cool. Still, we thought Michelle's Pathfinder stood up pretty weel in comparison. The Cayene was slick, but it didn't make the Pathfinder look bad. Since there was a Hummer dealership right next door, we decided to try test driving an H2 as well. Only Michelle test drove this one. She didn't like it at all. "Are you interested in a Hummer?" "Not any more!" I guess you only get one of those because you like the look. :)

We went to Michaels to get some silk flowers and grass to Michelle could make a flower crown for her costume. Instead of going as an Indian, she decided that she's going to go as a Tahitian Princess, wearing a pareo, white blouse, and crown of flowers. She's very cute in her costume.

I was messing around with my costume. I put on the mask and the hat, and then put on my sunglasses. We decided I actually looked a lot like the Hamburgler. All I needed was the striped shirt! :)

For dinner, we went to Goode Company Barbecue. It was a new place for us. They had good food, we had a good time sitting at the long picnic tables outside. The weather in Houston is still very nice.

We went to the Halloween party this evening. People liked our costumes and there were some other pretty good ones, including a country sheriff with a huge cowboy hat, a 70's dico guy with huge hair, a mermaid, Cleopatra, an Christmas elf with a serious five o'clock shadow, a pretty impressive wizard, Madonna, and more. Michelle and I were studying what they had done to decorate their house, so we could get ideas on how to throw such a party ourselves. The fans were a good idea, expecially for peopel wearing hot costumes. :) They replaced some of the ceiling lights with black lights, pushed the furniture to the sides of the room, and had some nice decorations. They had some neatly carved pumpkins. I likes the one that had mice on the front and cast the shadow of a cat behind it. They hired a bar tender, so they didn't have to handle the drinks themselves. They had a chocolate fountain, which was neat but kind of impractical. I'm all for drippy chocolate, but it's hard to mingle and eat drippy chocolate at the same time. I think I'll sick with sitting with friends around a table having chocolate fondue. :)

We found this really neat option in the Cayene pamphlet. You can get "European Delivery", where you go to the factory to pick up your new Cayene. You get a tour of the factory, and you get to take driving lessons on the factory course with a certified instructor. Then you can drive it around Europe and when you're done, they'll ship it back to North America for you. How's that for a fun way to get started your new car?
