So I was thinking about yesterday's XML blackboard environment. It's actually not that much different from the current system of using a filesystem. Or, a blackboard is not that much different from a file system. If you made it so command line tools alwasy read their command line from a file and always wrote to a file, it's pretty much the same thing. It wouldn't be too hard to experiment with if you used the file system as your blackboard and had a good XML parser.
