Today I spent a lot of time with Dan Tull working on the option loader. We had problems with the instrument service over the weekend. After tracking everything down, it turns out that we just had a couple of minor issues that raised their heads at the same time. One of the problems was that we might try to load the wrong file on Saturday and Sunday. The fix was conceptually simple, but it affected all the loaders so we took the time to refactor and come up with a good solution. Everything's running happily now.
This evening I went to an OTUG meeting. Some people from Gearworks were presenting their experiences after doing Extreme Programming for a year and a half. They had very good results. It was really neat seeing the pictures of their work environment and hearing how they made the process work for them. I was personally impressed with how much conscientous preparation the product manager was doing to manage the dynamic requirements backlog.
