This morning we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Michelle's parents are getting ready to visit Florence soon, so Michelle gave them the run down on what to see and do there. I showed them the pictures from when we went there, so we could make sure Michelle wasn't forgetting anything.

Michelle and I decided to visit the Lewis and Clark state park that we had earlier tried to visit with my parents. The previous time we were there, we got washed out by the rain and the visitor center wasn't open yet. This time, the museum was open but the memorial on the edge of the river was closed off. Michelle and I had brought Subway sandwiches for a picnic lunch, and we were planning on eating at the memorial. Since we couldn't get there, we explored a bit and found the entrance to the Chain Of Rocks canal. Well, at least it was by the river and we could see the confluence. We had our picnic there, chasing the grasshoppers off the flat-topped boulder we wanted to use as a picnic table. It was great weather for a picnic.

Next we went back to the museum. It was actually very nice. It was all centered around the start of the journey, talking about how they spent the first winter camping at the confluence and building a team from the group of men they had collected. They also talked about the supplies they had collected and how they got them all packing into the boated they were taking. There was a short movie (with very fancy auditorium). They had a full scale model of the main boat, which was very neat, and they were still building a replica of the encampent (which was actually a bunch of log cabins) outside the museum.

On the way back, we picked up Grammy and brought her to Michelle's parents' house where we had a barbecue dinner. We barbecued shish-kabobs, and had green beans, and even had angel food cake for dessert.

All to soon, it was time to go home. Michelle's parents took us to the airport and we flew back to Houston.
