Today I did laundry and the checkbook. I'm going to let the lawn go for a while longer. I had lunch at Taco Bell and spent a half hour walking around the neighborhood. I need to explore a bit so I can pick out a good standard walking loop and keep up my walking routine even when I'm not in Minneapolis. Walking around our neighborhood is a bit like hiking because the sidewalks are so broken and uneven. :) The weather was fantastic, though. I put pn my new hat and trucked around happily.
I put in a few hours doing real work too. I worked on a system inventory to help out DanC and sent him a mail with my latest ideas. I also worked on testing how my new price update data structure interacts with the GUI windows. I wrote a little class that can send various types of update depending upon which button is pressed, including a continuous stream of random updates. Everything looks really good!
Man, I hope our neighbors know they have a 780gph water leak. I'm guessing that since they left their front gate open, they know and left the gate open so someone could get back there to fix it. I'll still call and check. As a bonus, I now know where the water meter is, how to reach it, and how to read it. :)
This evening Michelle and I went out to a new restaurant called Osaka. We had some good sushi!
Oooo! UNIX Network Programming, Volume 1: The Sockets Networking API, Third Edition is coming out soon. That is / will be such an awesome book.
