In the morning, Michelle and I checked out of our hotel room. We were planning on having a dim sum brunch and we had some time, so we went over to the Bellevue botanical gardens and walked around. There were more flowers there this time than I think I've ever seen. They had roses and an amazing bed full of dallias. We walked through most of the gardens, including the Japanese garden. They had just re-landscaped one of the large gardens when I left Microsoft, so it was neet seeing it all grown out again.
Michael called us and said he wouldn't be coming to dim sum with us because he was feeling sick. He must have caught what Lance had yesterday. So, Michelle and I had dim sum at Noble Court with just the two of us. The food was great, just as we remembered. We would have been able to try more things if there had been more people, but we had a good time anyway.
We had some more time before Michelle needed to go to the airport, so we went to Idylwood Park on Lake Samamish. We walked down to the beach and watched all the little kids playing in the sand. Soon it was time to go, so I took Michelle to the airport and saw her off (or at least to the security line, which was amazingly long).
I called Lance and Kelli, then drove to their house in Covington. We decided to hike Little Mt. Si. We got ready and hopped in Lance's Jeep and drove to the trailhead. It was just what I was hoping for. There were some steep parts, some lush PNW forest (in the saddle between Si and Little Si) and a good view from the top. We took our time and a lot of pictures. It was just past sunset when we got back down to the Jeep. We decided to go to a BBQ place called Gordy's and have beef ribs for dinner. They were very good, though our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we had plenty of leftovers.
We bundled up (the Jeep was open) and headed back to Lance and Kelli's house. We played with the ferrets a bit and Lance gave me some CDs to take home for Michelle. Then it was time for me to head back to the airport, drop off the rental car, and take the red-eye back to Minneapolis.
