I don't have a problem with starting the day off early in the morning. It's great, because you get so many more hours in the day. I just have a problem with the geting up part. When I can get a good reason to get out of bed early, I take it. This morning I drove Michelle to work around 8am. All the more time to do stuff! I went to Target and spent about an hour wandering around. I got more M&Ms, a watch band, and another set of folding TV tables. I caught up on my comics and then took a shower.

I sing more in the shower when there's noone else around. I like trying to make stuff up. Today I was doing Variations on the Saint theme by Orbital. :) I've noticed that a lot of the songs I like that have an edgy feel to them have a short, heavily repeated "melody" in the base line. It happens in lots of genres. There's the one in Mozart's Requiem, Confutatis,

one in Smetana's Má Vlast, Z Českých Luhů A Hájů (yes, I just like saying that because I think the accents are cool - in English, thats From Bohemia's Woods And Fields), one in John Williams' Duel Of The Fates, and one in Orbital's Saint Theme, to name a few.

(You know, it would be cool if I had a music font or something so I could stick little music snippets in when the urge struck. Hmm.)

I spent quite a while today working on my watch. I was going to just attach the new wrist band, but I thought that maybe I could clean the crud out of the casing and it would look better. So, I pulled the mechanism out and scrubbed the case out with a toothbrush. It got a lot of crud out, but the buttons were still very sticky, possibly worse than before, which was frustrating. So I decided to go the rest of the way and clean the buttons. That involved removing the 2mm retaining C-rings on the buttons. Taking them off wasn't too bad, but getting the whole thing back together took quite a while. One of the button post O-rings got shredded, which sucks, but I my watch had lost it's water resistance years ago. I think all the cleaning was actually an improvement. The buttons move smoothly and the case is clean and I have a new wrist band. If there was some way to remove scratched from the face plate, it would be as good as new!

I played the two video games that Cameron loaned to me. Medievil is not bad as a 3D platformer. The bad guys were rather uninspired in the levels I played though. The other one was called Klonoa. The word that comes to mind is chibi! It seems to be trying to be hyper-cute. It's a 2D platformer pretending to be a 3D platformer, which doesn't really impress me. The enemies are flat sprites, and I saw a lot of pixelation. One thing that bugged me was that I wasn't able to go back if I missed something on a level, yet it wasn't clear when you were about to exit a level. Oh well. Neither had the smoothness of control of the Insomniac games, so I went back to playing R&C. :)

Michelle called, and I got dinner from Taco Bell. I brought it to her at the hospital and we ate there. She wasn't done yet, so I went home. I talked to my parents and packed for the next two weeks. Next weekend, Michelle and I are going to Seattle, and I won't be stopping in Houston, so I've got to pack more clothes than usual. :) I played a little more R&C, and then picked Michelle up from work. By then, we were both ready for bed.
