Hee hee! My hi-def video switcher is here! :D Another toy to hook up! And it means I can hook my PS2 up finally.

It's working! Yeah, baby. Played a little Ratchet and Clank, just to make sure every thing was hunky-dory. I was still able to kick butt, so it seems to work. Still working on the RYNO though. I've got 115K out of 150K bolts needed to buy it. I managed to chickify a tank though. Skill point! The other thing I found out is that the chickifier works really well on the green blob guys. They have low resistance, and they don't split into two enemies when you zap them. Excellent.

What else did I do today? Mowed the lawn, did the laundry, did the bills, balanced the checkbook. OK, boring, but it feels good to get everything done before the weekend. The lawn really needed it.

I actually did some work work today. I did a build, which I haven't done for quite a while, since Mike has been taking good care of it. I also spent some time disassembling the Geneva client and studying the code. Happily, it was not obfuscated, so the disassembly output was readable. I learned a couple things about it. First, the people who wrote it don't know a thing about threading. They were busy-waiting on a lock release for crying out loud! Nor do they know the rule about releasing a resource in the same code that acquires it. Ugh. Second, the Java client is actually pretty thin. The messages to the server are all about screens, lists, and menus. It does not look like the best interface for doing bulk data loads. Maybe there's another interface somewhere we can use. Still, I'm sure it could be made to work if that's all we had.

When Michelle came home, we went to Freebird's for dinner. Freebird's is another burrito place like Chipotle. They were good burritos too. The regular size burrito was big enough for me, but apparenly there are two bigger sizes - monster and super monster! Michelle figured she could spend all weekend eating one of those. The girl who made my burrito was really into the back eye makeup. If she had added some across the bridge of her nose, you would have thought she was trying to look like a raccoon. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. :)

When we came home, Michelle and I finished off the night by watching Pearl Harbor. It's a fun movie. Teary bits and blowing stuff up - not deep but entertaining. :)

Well, my watch band finally gave up the ghost today. This one lasted about three or four years. Happily, my watch is still going strong. The face is a little scratchy, but it's still my favorite watch. I'd consider getting a new one, if I could just find a digital watch that didn't look dorky. Oh well. Time to buy a new watch band. :)
