Comic Story is a bit of a misnomer. I wanted to try presenting part of a story I'm writing in comic strip or graphic novel format. I didn't get very far, only a few "minutes" into the story.
1999-03-26 : I drew the first nine frames and put them on a web page. The scene starting to play out here is how Kayla and Serin first meet.
On 2000-07-12 I got some time to work on it again. I changed the page to not be a fixed number of cells across, but to be dynamically resizable. I wanted to try out my new graphics tablet, but I just can't get the same quality of line out of the tablet. The art quality that started out as quickly drawn got significanlty worse. However, I wasn't to concerned as my goal was to move forward in the story, not be artistic. I was able to add seven more frames to the story. I also continued with not adding any text. That wasn't my original plan, but the first panels worked well without any words, so I decided to see how long I could keep it up.
I haven't gotten any further than these sixteen frames, and I don't know when I will. I have just barely begun to tell the story, so I'm not suprised if people aren't particularly impressed. It's just an experiment for me to see how many frames I could draw. I have great respect for anyone who can draw a comic book, daily comic strip, graphic novel, or any other work that involves such a sustained artistic output. :)
