Louis's Photos from 3-10-00

This was to New York. Michelle and I flew to New York on Friday to visit with Jeremy and his girlfriend Tam. Saturday, Sean joined us. Together we explored New York City and the Princeton University campus.

Here it is, New York. This picture was taken looking out across Central Park.

Jeremy and Tam in Central Park.

We crossed Central Park and went in to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Besides giving us a place to get out of the rain, there was a lot of neat art. There was an Egyptian tomb and medieval armor and neat musical instruments.

There was also an exhibit on Tiffany glass. Michelle and I liked this stained glass window especially.
Here is Michelle with the stained-glass window.
A closer look at Michelle and the window.
Here I am in Grand Central Station! I had been hoping to visit here, after reading about it in Diane Duane's books. Now where's that worldgate again?
Michelle, Jeremy, and Tam in Grand Central Station, discussing what to do next, making sure we got to the airport at the right time to pick up Sean.
Here are Michelle, Tam, Jeremy, and I riding the train back from New York City to Tam's apartment.

The next day, we went back to do some more sightseeing.

This is a picture of Michelle and I inside the World Trade Center, getting ready to go up to the top.
This is the view from the top floor of the World Trade Center, looking north. I believe the tall building the the Empire State building.
Michelle wants that big boat down there.
This is the Statue of Liberty as seen from the top floor of the World Trade Center.
This is a panoramic view looking out at the harbor to the south. This picture shows how tiny the Statue of Liberty actually was.
Here are Michelle and I at the very top, on the roof of the World Trade Center and on top of the world!
Now We've moved on to Rockafeller plaza and the famous ice rink. Here are Sean, Jeremy, Michelle, and I.
If we were too small for you in tha last picture, then this one should be much better. This is another picture of the reunited Techers, Sean Jeremy, Michelle, and I.

On Monday, we went to Princeton University to visit the school where Jeremy is doing his graduate work.

Here is a very artsy picture I took of a neat, ancient stairwell in one of the original Princeton buildings. Though it's not the focus of this picture, you can see where the stone stairs have been worn down by the passage of many feet and many years.
Michelle and I in front of one of the Princeton buildings. I think this is a theater.
After eating lunch at Hogie Haven, we decided we needed some ice cream, so we went to a nice ice cream parlor.
Here is Michelle eating here ice cream in front of a wall covered with cow and farm pictures.
We stopped in to ane of the churches on campus on the way back. I thought this column was really interesting. Instead of stomber grey stone, this column is covered in an almost lighthearted jumble of pastel colors. Here is Michelle in front of the colorful column.
The colors on the column came from this stained glass window. Unfortunately this picture is blury. It also doesn't do justice to vividness of the colors, especially the amazing blues.
