Louis's Photos from 4-24-99

Lance and Kelli and I decided to go camping on the Olympic Peninsula. We rode the ferry over to the peninsula, then drove to Ruby Beach. We played around on the beach until Lance's friends Dean and Windy showed up. Then we searched for a camping spot. We ended up spending the night at a DNR campground near the Hoh Rainforest. Dean cooked steaks for dinner - delicious! After a slightly rainy night, we headed home the next day, with a quick stop at Lance's parents' house.

On the Ferry, departing from the mainland to the peninsula.
Lance and Kelli, riding on the front of the ferry.
Mt. Rainer and Seattle in the distance, looking south down Puget Sound.
Near the end of the ferry rid, the Olympics are clearer.
Crescent Lake, on the peninsula.
Another picture of Crescent Lake, this time closer to the water.
Lance and Kelli bundled up and ready to explore Ruby Beach.
A pretty view of Ruby Beach, looking down through the fog. This picture shows pretty good depth.
Louis standing on a big log of diftwood.
We found a sea stack with a hole in it, so I decided to take some artsy pictures. A fisherman's daughter waiting for her father to come home?
Another artsy picture. A priest looking out a monastery window at the sea?
Another man looking out a rough-hewn stony window at a cold seascape.
Eroded sandstone. This shows the interesting texture. Maybe a nice background image?
A view of the coastline with sea stacks and costal conifers disappearing in the mist.
Another coastline shot, but I really like this one. Too bad there's a person in the lower left corner.
An attempt to see if the tendrils of fog will show up on a picture. Lance, I don't think they show up very well.
Pebbly beach. Another interesting texture and possible background.
Lance striking a heroic pose before the mist shrouded trees.
A view of the mist shrouded hillside. I tried to get some good depth in this picture.
Louis in front of the hillside. A great shot by Lance.
Kelli in fron of the ocean. Another good shot by Lance.
Engarde! I found a broken plastic float ball which made a perfect guard for a sword, so I found a piece of driftwood for the blade and I was all set! This here cowboy rides fences and fences rustlers. ;)
